Energy!!

We just started our second unit on Energy!  We have learned about Potential (stored) and Kinetic (moving) energy.  We also started to dive into some common forms of Energy.  We set up a class pendulum and learned that Kinetic Energy can never be greater than Potential Energy. (WOW!!)

We also discovered that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but it can be changed/transferred/converted into other forms of energy.  Exploring that when the potential energy is at its highest is when the kinetic energy is at its lowest has been exciting!

Forms of Energy

What are some common forms of energy you use everyday?  Do you notice any energy changes that happen around you? (Comment for Extra Credit)

  1. Some common forms of energy that we use today are light energy. For example,we turn off and on a light everyday. Also another common form of energy is kinetic energy and this we use almost every 10SECONDS so thats very important.

  2. some forms of energy we use everyday are gravitational energy and sound energy.some ways we use gravitational energy are by tripping , by jumping and in cars when they drive through speed bumps.a car uses graviotational energy in speed bumps because the car jumps and gets pull down by the force of gravitation.we also use graviotational energy when we trip because we also get pulled down by the gravitational.some ways we use sound energy is by bouncing a ball clapping and honking.when you clap your hands have kinetic energy because your hands move, your hand also make heat energy and sound energy because your hands make noise

  3. The forms of energy we use daily is chemical and electrical energy. We use chemical energy daily by digesting food in breakfast or lunch to having an old car that is rusting. In life we use electrical from using the smartboards or laptops in schools and even charging your phone when you get home.
